Arrest stems from report of Everett vehicle theft

PULLMAN – WSU police arrested a man Tuesday on charges related to the possession of a stolen vehicle and stolen credit cards, as well as obstruction of a public servant.
The man had eluded officers Monday night when they attempted to detain him in connection with a stolen car discovered in the parking lot of the Student Recreation Center.

Colin Barrett, 21, of Bremerton, Wash., was arrested at Perham Hall without incident, said WSU Police Lt. Steve Hansen.

He said Barrett fled on foot Monday following a police stakeout of a vehicle matching the description of a car reported stolen a few days earlier in Everett.

Barrett is being held by the Pullman police pending transfer to the Whitman County jail, Hansen said.
