PULLMAN – New York Philharmonic pianist Jonathan Feldman will perform with faculty in a free public concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, in Kimbrough hall.
Feldman will discuss and demonstrate performance from the collaborative pianist’s perspective through the comparison of standard repertoire written for multiple instruments. Performances will include works by Schumann, Brahms, Prokofiev, Mozart and Kreisler.
Participating WSU faculty will include Meredith Arksey, Ann Yasinitsky, Shannon Scott, Keri McCarthy, Ruth Boden, Ryan Hare and Richard Kriehn. Guests will be Susan Hess and Robert Dickow.
Feldman is chair of the collaborative piano department at the Juilliard School. He has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, James Galway, Gil Shaham and Sarah Chang, among others.
