PULLMAN – WSU Opera Workshop will present its summer musical production ‘Shout! The Mod Musical’ at 8 p.m. on July 30-31 in Bryan Hall Theatre.

Under the direction of WSU music faculty member Julie Wieck, student vocalists Angela Brown, Alyssa Erickson, Kelsey Doyle, Crystal Harris and Amanda Guay will take the public back to the music, the fashion and the freedom of the 60s.

SHOUT! flips through the years like a musical magazine of the 60s by tracking five groovy gals as they come of age during those liberating days that made England swing.

The musical is an irresistible blend of hip-swiveling hits, eye-popping fashions and psychedelic dances. The show uses letters to an advice columnist, true confessions, quizzes and advertisements as a frame for new arrangements of such chart-topping hits as “To Sir With Love,” “Downtown,” “You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,” “Son of A Preacher Man,” and “Goldfinger,” many of the soulful pop anthems and ballads that made household names of stars like Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield and Lulu.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens and may be purchased in the Bryan Hall lobby beginning 90 minutes before each performance. The play has been rated PG.
