SBDC offers live webinar on marketing for small business

SPOKANE – Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering a live webinar on “Marketing in the Real World of Small Business” from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 24 and 25.
Attendance can be live in-person at the Spokane SBDC in the Sirti Building, Suite 201, or virtual via computer. The cost is $49 and a workbook and case study material will be emailed prior to the workshop. The focus of the webinar is on marketing anytime – even during a recession. Attending will help participants understand real-world marketing concepts and learn how to tailor these marketing tools to fit their business. This seminar is for small businesses that want to increase both their sales and their profits, and is designed to provide a roadmap for sustained growth and a greater bottom line for businesses.
What will be covered?
• How to understand financial resources and fund a new marketing effort without increasing current expenses.
• Define what marketing is and explore the different types of marketing strategies and tactics.
• Understand who customers are and what they like and dislike about competitors in a specific marketplace.
• Learn how to think outside the box and outsmart the competition, even the national chains.
• Develop a marketing budget and marketing plan for a specific business and its needs.
• Learn how to implement and evaluate a marketing plan to test for success and amend it for greater effectiveness. Participants will leave with a well defined path to a marketing plan and its implementation.
The facilitator is Barry Bauchwitz, who has over 45 years of experience in sales and marketing. He managed his own corporation which specialized in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies for a variety of companies. He has extensive management experience with marketing and sales companies and advertising and promotion agencies including Account Specific Marketing, Inc. as a COO.
 
Bauchwitz’s experience includes: vice president Business Development, BDS Marketing, Inc.; vice president Marketing, Gourmet Award Foods; vice president Sales and Marketing for Celestron Corporation and he has managed outside sales representatives. Bauchwitz recently returned to Spokane after working in New York/New Jersey, Houston, Denver, Omaha and Los Angeles. He is a University of California graduate.
