PULLMAN – Northwest Public Radio is asking listeners to pledge an entire membership campaign’s worth of funds in one day: Thursday, Oct. 22.
The goal is 2,500 pledges from listeners in Washington, Idaho, Oregon and British Columbia. This will be the fourth one-day drive in Northwest Public Radio’s history.
As of 10:30 a.m., the campaign was off to a good start, according to Mary Hawkins, NWPR program director. “We’ve received 1,050 calls toward our Super Thursday goal, and going strong.”
“Membership campaigns have traditionally been seven to ten days long,” said Development Director Rita Brown. “In recent years we’ve discovered the benefit of cutting that time down significantly. Our members are enthusiastic about short drives. They don’t want interruptions in their programs.”
Listeners’ pledges this week are counted toward the drive goal.
