PULLMAN – The Palouse Ridge Golf Club at WSU and its management firm, CourseCo, Inc., have named Tyler Jones to replace Bruce Perisho, as the club’s new general manager.
A 1992 WSU graduate in hotel and restaurant management, Jones returns to Pullman from Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif., — one of Golf World Magazine’s 2009 “Top 50 public golf courses” — where he served for the last five years as general manager.
“Tyler’s expertise and National ProAm tournament experience are ideal for this championship course,” said CourseCo President Tom Isaak. “He is a Cougar with the background, heart, and skill to build on Palouse Ridge’s spectacular start in the world of golf.
In 2007 The Monterey Herald named Jones to its list of the “Top 5 Most Influential People in Golf on the Monterey Peninsula.” Jones’ numerous leadership roles in the community include serving on the Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association Board of Directors, as a member of the California Golf Course Owners Association Board, as president of the Monterey County Golf Association, and as a member of the Pebble Beach Community Advisory Board. He has served twice as interim executive director the Northern California Golf Association.
Jones was elected to the Professional Golfers’ Association membership in 1997, and has competed in three AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am championship tournaments as a marker.
His prior experience in golf course administration includes an additional six years at Poppy Hills, preceded by positions with Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Calif., and Sun Valley Resort in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Tyler, his wife Callie, and their children Lexy and Chase are looking forward to moving to the Palouse.
