VANCOUVER – Washington State University Vancouver is hosting a banquet to raise awareness about local and global poverty issues 7 – 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 in the Firstenburg Student Commons. This event is free and open to the public.
– Upper 15% – Three-course dinner
(representing the 15% of the world’s population with a per capita yearly income of $9,076 or more)
(representing the 25% of the world’s population with a per capita yearly income between $912 and $9,075)
(representing the 60% of the world’s population with a per capita yearly income of less than $911 a year)
Guest speakers at the Poverty Banquet will be David Bowlan of the Luepke Loaves & Fishes meal center and Minda Seibert of Mercy Corps. They will address issues related to local and global poverty and hunger.

Donations can be made to Luepke Loaves & Fishes or Mercy Corps at the door. A donation of $5 per ticket is suggested. Event sponsors include Billygan’s Roadhouse, Fred Meyer and Round Table Pizza.
Parking is free in all campus lots for the Poverty Banquet.
