Final Riverpoint campus master plan community workshop

SPOKANE – The last in a series of workshops will be held Wednesday, June 3, for presentation of a final draft of the updated Riverpoint Campus master plan. The public is invited to the workshop, to be held 3-5pm in room 20 of the Academic Center.
At two previous community workshops, planners and participants discussed strategies and a planning framework for the master plan update. Goals and key themes of the master plan update include an emphasis on an urban, walkable, connected campus; encouragement of multi-modal transportation including transit, bicycle, and pedestrian connections and a bike/pedestrian bridge over the railroad tracks south of campus; structured parking, strategically located for a “park once” approach; an enhanced streetscape; sustainability principles; interdisciplinary collaborative spaces; strengthened connections to the Spokane River; and strong linkages to adjacent neighborhoods and assets including the central business district, Convention Center, West Main, South University District, Gonzaga University campus, and Iron Bridge area east of Hamilton.
Coming to campus:
Transit: Visitors to campus may use Spokane Transit route #29.
Cyclists: Bike racks are available at all buildings.
Parking: A cash-only “pay and display” lot is available next to the South Campus Facility on the south side of Spokane Falls Blvd; parking is available at meters; or visitors may purchase a pass at the Parking Services office in the South Campus Facility for use in any lot.
