The WSU Arboretum and Wildlife Center (AWC) master plan – which has been under development since last fall – will enter the final phase of tweaking this Thursday, April 9.
Consultants from the Seattle-based Portico Group and the Miller/Hull Partnership will present final drawings of the center concept to the AWC planning committee for feedback and discussion. Earlier meetings had produced three unique designs for the center – which have since been consolidated into single plan.
The proposed center is slated to be located on the eastern edge of campus along Airport Road – across from the current grizzly bear facility.
The public is invited to attend a brown-bag open forum from noon until 1 p.m. in CUE 512. A presentation by the consultants will be followed with a question and answer session. Students, staff and faculty are welcome to attend and provide last-minute input on the master plan.
Committee members and consultants will then meet with college deans to discuss budget and funding strategies for the center during the afternoon.
The final concept master plan is expected to be available by May.
