RICHLAND — Learn how to earn a Master’s in Business Administration degree through WSU Tri-Cities at regional information meetings on April 7, 9 and 14.
The MBA program is offered on the WSU Tri-Cities campus and through interactive video-conferencing at the WSU Learning Centers in Yakima and Wenatchee. Most classes are held in the evenings to meet the scheduling needs of busy professionals.
Information meetings are:
• Yakima — 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, in the WSU Learning Center on the Yakima Valley Community College campus, 1000 S. 12th St., in the Deccio Higher Education Center, Parker Room. Call 509-574-6897.
• Tri-Cities — 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at WSU Tri-Cities, in the Consolidated Information Center, Room 120, at 2770 University Drive, Richland, in the. Call 509-372-7360.
• Wenatchee — 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the WSU Learning Center on the Wenatchee Valley Community College campus, 1300 Fifth St., in Wells Hall, Room 1069. Call 509-662-2660 ext. 24.
Each information session lasts about an hour. WSU Tri-Cities College of Business professors and MBA program graduates will be on hand to describe the program and answer questions, including the admissions process, prerequisites, the cost, coursework, how long it takes to finish and more.
“All of our faculty who teach in the MBA program hold doctorates in their respective areas like marketing, finance and accounting,” said John Thornton, WSU Tri-Cities College of Business academic director. “Each of them has professional experience in their area. We believe that the blending of practice and theory, and then the science to support those theories and practices, is the best way to build a solid MBA program.”
To add to the academic blending and the application of textbook concepts to real-world situations, MBA students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, Thornton said.
“We have many experienced business professionals, we have research scientists, engineers, educators, entrepreneurs, some from the health care industry, and from agriculture.”
Applications to the MBA program now are being accepted. Also, the WSU Tri-Cities Summer School includes many Business courses that are prerequisites or are part of the MBA program.
