Riverpoint campus hosts living voices production The Right to Dream

SPOKANE — The Riverpoint Campus Diversity Events Subcommittee at WSU Spokane will host a free public production by Living Voices entitled “The Right to Dream” 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22 on the Riverpoint Campus in the Phase I Classroom Building room 122 at 668 North Riverpoint Blvd.

This is a production of the struggle and sacrifice for civil rights in America. The Right to Dream recreates a young woman’s coming of age as an African American in Mississippi in the 1950s and 60s. This program illuminates the issues of civil rights leading audiences to understand how the fight against prejudice has shaped our history.

Living Voices strives to recreate historical periods with as much authentic detail as possible. They believe that by allowing audiences to experience history as participants, they will better understand the choices individuals made during that time. Living Voices uses a unique combination of theatre, video and live Interaction to create a high impact experience allowing audiences to discover history’s relevance to their lives.
