Faculty Artist Series will feature baroque violin

PULLMAN – WSU faculty members Meredith Arksey, violin, and Sheila Converse, mezzo-soprano, will perform as part of the Music Faculty Artist Series at 8 p.m. Jan. 23 in Bryan Hall Theatre.
 
Arksey has just returned from a sabbatical in Italy where she studied Baroque violin and the first two pieces by Archangelo Corelli will be performed on the Baroque violin. Keyboard artists include Gerald Berthiaume, Jill Schneider and Meg Kelley. Ruth Boden will play cello on several pieces and Ann Yasinitsky will play flute for Ravel’s Chansons madécasse. The program includes additional works by Brahms, Williams, Heggie and de Sarasate.
 
Tickets for the Music Faculty Artist Series: general admission: $10.00, students and seniors: $5, WSU students with ID: free.  Tickets are available in the lobby one hour before concert time.  All proceeds from the sales of tickets benefit the School of Music scholarship fund.
