Children’s Center updating waiting list 
The WSU Children’s Center is accepting waiting list applications for all age groups.
If you are faculty, staff or a student at WSU interested in Children’s Center child care, download the waiting list application form ONLINE @ www.childrenscenter.wsu.edu. There is a $25 per family application fee.
Offers for enrollment are made based on the date of application on a first come-first served basis.
 
Submit nominations for MLK awards

Dec. 30 is the deadline for nominating employees, students and community members for a 2009 Martin Luther King Jr. Distinguished Service Award.
The awards recognize extraordinary contributions in continuing King’s work to advance diversity through innovative and effective programs, service or outreach. Specific criteria, nomination forms and instructions can be found ONLINE @ www.thedivision.wsu.edu.
In addition to new applications, nominations from last year are welcome to be resubmitted for consideration, said Felicia Gaskins, WSU MLK Distinguished Award Committee chair.
 
Nominate women for annual honors
Nominations for the WSU Women of Distinction and Woman of the Year awards will be accepted through Jan. 28 ONLINE @ www.president.wsu.edu/office. Contact Jill Griffin at griffinj@vetmed.wsu.edu for more information. 
The Women of Distinction awards are presented to a WSU alumna, an employee, a student and a woman from outside WSU. All nominees are eligible for the Woman of the Year award. Awards will be presented at the Women’s Recognition Luncheon, 11:20 a.m. March 11 in the CUB ballroom.
 
GPSA resource center expands access hours
Cougar Card swipe access to the Graduate and Professional Students Association resource center on the Holland Library ground floor has been added as part of recent renovations. This allows students to use the center during all hours the library is open.
Students who have difficulties accessing the center can call the GPSA office at 335-9545.
 
Grad student travel grants deadline Jan. 16
The deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, for graduate student grants for travel Feb. 2-May 31.
 
The Graduate School and the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) make funds available for travel as part of research and scholarly activities.
