Passport to a culinary adventure – A taste of northwest Native America

Pullman – During the week of November 10 – 14, WSU Dining Services will offer patrons a journey of culinary adventure and delight.  Dining Services will feature “A Taste of Northwest Native America” at each of the three primary dining facilities:  Hillside Café, Northside Café, and Southside Café.  Throughout the week, the following menu items will be available: 
 
Hillside Café (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday – Friday)
Monday – Baked Chicken with Fresh Cranberry Compote, Baked Sweet Potatoes and Sucotash Tuesday – Buffalo Stew, Corn Bread and Fresh Vegetables Wednesday – Baked Salmon with Blackberry Compote, Fried Bread, Zucchini and Goose Neck Squash
Thursday – Buffalo Meat Loaf with Wild Rice, Fried Corn Patties and Spinach  
Friday – Baked Cod with Corn, Rice, and Fresh Vegetables
 
Northside Café (11:00 am – 2:00 pm, 4:30pm – 7:30pm Monday – Friday)
Monday – Deviled Buffalo Burgers with Sweet Potato French Fries
Tuesday – Indian Tacos & Pumpkin Pie
Wednesday – Cedar Plank Salmon with Maple Mashed Sweet Potatoes & Roasted Acorn Squash
Thursday – Burning Tree Chicken Squash with Sunflower Seeds and Wild Rice Pilaf
Friday – Pueblo Feast Day Pork Roast with Corn Cakes and Ojibwa Baked Pumpkin
 
Southside Café (11:00 am – 1:30 pm, 4:30pm – 7:30pm Monday – Friday)             
Monday – Wild Rice Soup and Buffalo Stew 
Tuesday – Smoked Game Hens with Wild Rice 
Wednesday – Smoked Salmon with Fried Hominy and Roasted Acorn Squash and Turkey Stew with Cranberries, Apple Cider, Squash and Bacon.  
Thursday – Roasted Trout with Fry Bread and Green Beans, and Venison Barley Soup  
Friday – Buffalo Burger and Pumpkin Cookies
 
On Wednesday, November 12 at Southside Café and Thursday, November 13 at Northside Café, the Native American Music Class and the Palouse Falls Intertribal Drum Group will also be performing from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.  The group will perform several solo and small group social dances that will include educational explanations of the dances.  They will then invite the audience to participate for the main event of the evening, The Friendship Dance.  Please join us on this journey of discovery and culinary delight!
