PULLMAN — Students will be given the opportunity to Rock the Vote and get informed Thursday, Oct. 2 at Glenn Terrell mall with various activities put together by ASWSU.
 
There will be a meet and greet with various political candidates including Democrats Pat O’Neil and Tyana Kelley from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., as well as programs “Under the Big Tent: Why I Vote!” at 12:30 p.m. and “Coffee and Politics with Mark Mays” at 2 p.m.
 
Entertainment will include Rock band Chariots on Fire and henna tattoos.
 
A food drive and a booth for electronic voter’s registration will also be set up.
 
“The event is really just to bring awareness to students, and get them registered,” said Jessica Moore, Graduate and Professional Student Association president.
 
Other groups on campus supporting the event are Whitman County Democrats, Whitman County GOP, Young Democrats, College Republicans, the Civic Engagement Center, Thomas S. Foley Institute, and the Women’s Resource Center.

The deadline to register to vote in the 2008 Presidential Election is Oct. 4. Register online by visiting www.vote.wa.gov.
 
Voters can register at their campus address or hometown address, and receive their ballot in the mail.
