PULLMAN – Construction crews are working feverishly to complete a portion of Library Road and the surrounding sidewalks — connecting Terrell Mall to Hello Walk — by the beginning of classes on Aug. 25. The goal is to provide easier access to buildings and the ability to traverse campus quickly.

Overall, the $15 million Phase III Library Road project is said to be “on schedule” for a Sept. 25 completion date.

When completed, Phase III will:

  • improve pedestrian traffic and safety
  • eliminate regular vehicular traffic,  while maintaining service access and ADA parking areas
  • develop open space, including Murrow Yard and Terrell Mall, that  ties the campus together
  • improve transit traffic via a hub at Campus and Thatuna Streets

The Adminstration Annex Building will be demolished, which may allow that site to be used as a landscaped open space and as a future academic building site.
