The corner of Johnson Road and Stadium Way has come a long way from bleachers and tennis courts.

Steadily rising, stands the four-story Biotechnology/Life Sciences Building, at a massive 128,000 gross square feet.

John Novak, construction engineer with Capital Planning and Development, said the site is moving along smoothly.

The project is growing literally from the ground up, with interior sheetrock starting on the first floor, while exterior wall structures are slowly being covered in
brick.

The building’s free standing structures, architectural overhangs, and numerous outdoor terraces, give the site a uniquely aesthetic appeal.

According to Capital Planning and Development, the high-tech facility is anticipated to contain research laboratories, core laboratories, common support space,

conference rooms, and office space for faculty and postdoctoral students.
