COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A one-day conference designed for  healthcare providers, agency personnel and seniors will be held May 22 at North Idaho College.
The conference will meet in the Edminster Student Union Building, and is presented by the Area Agency on Aging of North Idaho.
“Pathways to Financial Health” is designed to provide a unique opportunity for sharing and support between financial representatives, health care providers, agency personnel, and seniors throughout Idaho.
It will provide a forum for addressing the challenges of assuring financial health in the years following retirement.
Topics to be addressed include:
-Understanding Medicare and Medicaid
-Long Term Care Insurance
-Caregiver Legal Issues and Ethics
-Investment Strategies
-Estate Planning and Trusts
-Identifying Resources for Low-income Homeowners.
Keynote speaker is Tod D. Houston, field marketing director of Genworth Financial. Houston will offer an educational approach to protecting against the risks faced in retirement – including escalating health care costs, long term care, dependence on federal and state retirement assistance programs, and diminishing returns on investments.
Additional speakers will provide valuable information for seniors, caregivers, and professional service providers.
The required registration fee is $100, or $20 for seniors age 60 and over. This fee includes lunch.
