RICHLAND — The public is invited to attend the dedication and opening of the Bioproducts, Sciences, and Engineering Laboratory at 11 a.m. May 8, at WSU Tri-Cities.

BSEL is a $24.8 million multipurpose facility where WSU faculty and students and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory researchers collaborate in the development and commercialization of biofuels and bioproducts.

BSEL’s primary activities focus on addressing national energy independence, growing the state’s economy and providing future leaders with an educational experience aligned with the future needs of the country and region.

BSEL will serve as a collaborative facility for developing biofuels and bioproducts to improve the nation’s energy independence and the region’s economy in an environmentally compatible manner.

The collaboration will help provide the next generation of scientists and researchers with an educational experience geared to helping solve the grand energy challenges facing the nation.
