Mothers visit Pullmanfor Mom’s Weekend

PULLMAN – Continuing a long-established tradition, mothers and friends of WSU students will visit the Pullman campus for Mom’s Weekend, April 11-13.
 
More than 100 activities, exhibits and special programs, including concerts, theater plays, craft fairs and athletic events, are scheduled for the three-day weekend.
Elton John will present two concerts on April 12 and 13 at Beasley Performing arts Coliseum. Tickets for the 7 p.m. Sunday concert are still available, visit http://beasley.wsu.edu/ for more information. Saturday’s concert is sold out.

The Museum of Art will present Sherry Markovitz “Shimmer”. Known for her beaded animal heads, the Seattle-based artist will show a retrospective exhibition 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 and 12.
 
The WSU School of Music will present “Naughty Marietta,” a musical set in 1803 New Orleans, at 8 p.m. April 11 and at 2 p.m. April 12 in Bryan Hall Theater.
 
WSU Theater will present two plays “Passion” and “Sylvia.” Passion is a serious comedy about marriage, a middle-aged couple and a widow. It will take place at 8 p.m. April 11, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. April 12 in Daggy Hall.
 
Sylvia is a story about a marriage and a dog, presented at 8 p.m. April 11, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. April 12, and 2 p.m. April 13 in Daggy Hall.
 
There will be several sport events throughout the weekend, including baseball, women’s tennis, women’s rugby and a variety of challenging activities sponsored by the Recreation Center.
 
Wine lovers will also have the chance to attend events such as the 24th Annual Winefest, the Crimson and Chardonnay and the Wine-O-Palousa.
 
The official Mom’s Weekend Brunch will take place 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 12 at the Great Hall in the Lewis alumni center. The Mom of the Year Award will be presented during the brunch.
