Cougs face Arizona at Bailey-Brayton Field

Coming off of a split series against UC Davis and a frustrating loss in Spokane against Gonzaga, the Cougars have geared up to take on Arizona State in a three- game series this weekend at Bailey-Brayton Field.

Last weekend UC Davis overcame a seven-run deficit to defeat the Cougs 13-11 at Bailey-Brayton Field on Sunday, April 6. Overall, the Cougs split that four-game series with UC Davis 2-2.

On April 8, Gonzaga scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come-from-behind and post an 11-8 victory over WSU at Patterson Baseball Complex in Spokane.

“I’m just really disappointed,” Cougar Head Coach Donnie Marbut said. “We played good enough to win for seven innings.”

The Cougs defeated Zags 6-2, on March 25 in Pullman behind Chad Arnold who gave up two runs on six hits, struck out three and walked one.

The Cougs have been practicing hard to gain a victory over Arizona State during the upcoming three-game series at Bailey-Brayton Field  this weekend. The Cougs are scheduled to play at 5:30 p.m. Friday April 11;  2 p.m. Saturday, April 12; and at 12 p.m. Sunday, April 13.
