The Phase III construction project to remodel Library Road began March 17, marking the final phase in an effort originally begun  in 2000.  The $15 million project will extend the Library Road  remodel effort from the Administration Annex building to the Bookie. The project is slated to be completed by the summer of 2009.

Phase III construction was approved by the Board of Regents at the October meeting.  A pedestrian plaza will be created in the area around the Bookie.  The lawn in front of the Murrow Complex will be landscaped and Hello Walk will be cleaned up.

The project will attempt to address the traffic congestion that often occurs at the transit hub at the intersection of Campus and Thatuna streets.  The Disability Resource Center will move to the Washington Building, and Ad Annex will be demolished.

Funding sources for the project include $12 million from the 2007-2009 State Building Construction Account and $3 million from the WSU Building Account.
