Library Road Phase 3 design presentation

Capital Planning and Development will hold a Library Road Phase 3 design presentation March 3 and 4 in the Bryan Hall Foyer.

Phase 3 is a continuation of the Library Road improvement project that began in 2000.  The infrastructure improvements will be extended north from the Adminstrative Annex Building toward the bus transit hub in front of the current Bookie building. One goal is to improve traffic circulation and pedestrian safety at the transit hub.

Project staff as well as designers will be on hand to answer any questions at the presentation. They also want to receive as much public feedback as possible from faculty, staff, students and community members.

The improvements to the campus infrastructure are intended to provide greater service capacity and a more pleasant environment.  Phase 3 will enhance pedestrian movement by reducing regular vehicular traffic while maintaining service access and disability parking areas.  It will also allow the development of open space in front of Terrell Mall that will help tie the campus together.

The Administration Annex Building deconstruction process will be carried out during this project, which may allow the current site to be used as a landscaped open space and as a future academic building site.
