Kids invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday

Cat in the Hat and Butch T. Cougar will make special appearances at “Family Night Out,” a celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.  The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at WSU’s Cleveland Hall.

Open to children ages 3 to 10, the party will be hosted by the Student Washington Education Association Educator’s Club. It will feature a buy-one, get-one-free Scholastic book fair. 

The children will be able to eat birthday cake, read books, make Cat in the Hat hats and play a Dr. Seuss-themed game. There will be a different readers every 15 minutes throughout the evening, including Craig Nelson, principal of Jefferson Elementary; Pullman Mayor Glenn Johnson; two local firefighters; Pullman High School cheerleaders and Barker, mascot of the Greyhounds.

Cleveland Hall is on the west side of the central WSU campus, at the corner of Idaho Street and College Avenue. ParkingParking is free after 5:00 PM. p.m.
