Grant proposals sought for innovative ideas

The Office of Undergraduate Education is seeking grant proposals for “innovative ideas to enhance learning and teaching at WSU.”  The deadline to submit proposals is March 21.

Up to eight grants of a maximum of $5,000 each will be awarded. It is expected that recipients should be notified by April 30.

Funding comes from the Samuel H. and Patricia W. Smith Teaching and Learning Endowment, established when WSU President Sam Smith retired in 2000.  By funding projects that can serve as models to other faculty at WSU and nationally, the endowment seeks to increase WSU’s capacity to engage in continuous improvement of its educational programs.

Proposals from individual faculty members, faculty groups, and departments or programs are invited. Projects may range from efforts by an individual faculty member to revise an existing course to a department-wide update of the undergraduate curriculum.

Details about the request for proposals can be found on the website of the Office of the Provost, at http://provost.wsu.edu/SmithTeachingandLearningEndowmentRFP(1).pdf .
