Architectural illustrator offers drawing workshop

Pencil, marker, pastel and watercolor techniques for graphic artists will be taught by renowned illustrator Mike Lin at a workshop sponsored by the WSU Landscape Architecture Club.
 
The workshop is offered Feb. 15 and 16 in the Ensminger Pavilion on the WSU Pullman campus. Sessions start at 9 a.m. both days, and continue until 6 p.m. The cost for the workshop is $40, $55 for registering the day of the event, and the public is invited to attend.
 
Mike Lin is the director of the Mike Lin Graphic and Design Workshop in Burlingame, Calif. Over 250,000 people have attended his workshops over the past 30 years across 100 universities.Lin teaches rendering in two-dimensional plan view and three-dimensional perspective.
 
The two-day intensive course covers not only media techniques but many aspects of creating presentation graphics that communicate. Attendees should bring their own drawing materials, however, there may be additional materials available for purchase upon arrival.
 
Landscape Architecture Club president Alex Mann said the club is sponsoring the workshop as a service to the university and surrounding communities.
 
Mann said the workshop is designed for students and practitioners in architecture, landscape architecture and interior design, but that anyone with an interest in presentation graphics and plan drawing is welcome to attend.
