Sam Reed visits for Presidental Primary Straw Poll

VANCOUVER – As the most wide open presidential primary in 50 years makes its way to Washington, students at WSU Vancouver will welcome Secretary of State Sam Reed and political parties to Primary Voices, a mock election and town hall.

The bi-partisan campus event is slated for Feb. 4, 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Administration Building, room 110.

WSU Vancouver students will cast their ballots in a presidential primary straw poll, learning about nominating and electing a president from the state elections chief and political parties. During the event local citizens who are not registered to vote can do so on site.

Secretary Reed is calling on all young people — traditionally the least represented age group in elections — to engage in the 2008 nomination process.

Media parking passes available on request from byrds@vancouver.wsu.edu. See http://www.vancouver.wsu.edu/map for directions.]
