WSU Vancouver is launching a new lunchtime presentation titled the Chancellor’s Seminar Series, running 12-1:30 p.m. Fridays March 7, April 4, and May 16 in the Firstenburg Student Commons.
“The Chancellor’s Seminar Series offers an outstanding lineup of speakers from within the WSU community of experts – along with national experts from outside of our institution — to address issues impacting Clark County residents,” said WSU Vancouver Chancellor Hal Dengerink. “We hope that the Chancellor’s Seminar Series will promote civic engagement and education for all in our community,” and stimulate creative and innovative pubic debate and conversation regarding the important issues. Initial speakers and topics include:
• Friday, March 7, David Perry, director of the Great Cities Institute and professor of Urban Planning and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will speak on “The Role of the University as Urban Developers.”
• Friday, April 4, sleep researcher Gregory Belenky will present “Sleeping Your Way to Success: Understanding Sleep in a 24/7 Society,” as he examines the critical questions of sleep and performance in people going about their everyday lives.
