A taste of Australia

PULLMAN – During the week of Jan. 28 to Feb. 1, WSU Dining Services will provide a journey of culinary adventure and delight.
 
Dining Services will feature “A Taste of Australia” at each of the three primary dining facilities:  Hillside Café, Northside Café and Stephenson Dining.
 
Throughout the week, the following menu items will be available:
 
Hillside Café (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday – Friday)
Monday – Festive Pork, White Rice and Fresh Vegetables
Tuesday – Chicken with Basil Sauce, Steamed Potatoes and Fresh Vegetables
Wednesday – Plum Spare Ribs, Steak Fries and Sautéed Zucchini
Thursday – Barbecue Meat Loaf Aussie Style, Whipped Potatoes and Fresh Vegetables
Friday – Shrimp on the Barbie, Vegetarian Rice Pilaf and Fresh Vegetables
 
Northside Café (11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Monday – Friday)
Monday – Shepherd’s Pie and Lamingtons (chocolate and coconut covered sponge cake)
Tuesday – Bangers and Mash (sausage and mashed potatoes) with Peas and Gravy
Wednesday – Aussie Shrimp on the Barbie with Orange Ginger Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Parsnips, and PavlovaDessert
Thursday – Pasties and Damper(soda biscuits)
Friday – Sausage Sizzle
 
Stephenson Dining (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Monday – Friday)
All Week Long – Emu Burgers
Monday –Pork Chops with Cabbage and Onion Marmalade
Tuesday – Beef Filet with Marinated Mushrooms and Chocolate Crackles
Wednesday (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) – Emu Chili and “Blue Moon” Chicken Mango Salad
Wednesday (4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.) – Carved Roast Boar, Deep Fried Gator with Chipotle Mayo, Shrimp on the Barbie,Emu
Chili, Outback Mashed Potatoes, Damper (soda biscuits), Sautéed Vegetables “Blue Moon” Chicken Mango Salad, Pavlova Dessert, Swamp Cake (Chocolate pudding and graham cracker crumbs) and Boomerang Cookies.
Thursday – Hunter’s Stew
Friday – Creamy Curried Shrimp
 
Cultural information about Australia will circulate in the dining facilities throughout the week. Look for information about government, economy, culture and more will be at Stephenson Dining’s Down Under Dinner on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
 
“A Taste of Australia” is the fifth installment in Dining Services’ Passport To A Culinary Adventure. Look forward to “A Taste of Turkey” for the month of March, and “A Taste of Thailand” for the month of April.
