Student team addresses human mobility

VANCOUVER — The debate team from Washington State University Vancouver presents, “Has the automobile ravaged our nation? Can we return to a world of human mobility?” This debate is open to the public and will be held at noon, Nov. 7 on campus in the Administration Building, room 110.

Inspired by this year’s New Student Reading Project, “Asphalt Nation,” by Jane Holz Kay, the debate is sponsored by the WSU Vancouver General Education program. Team members are Joseph Ficken and Tia Ostergren for the government team, Anna Patterson and Bryce Smith for the opposing team.

WSU Vancouver is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205, or on C-Tran Bus route 19 from the Salmon Creek Park and Ride. Parking is available in metered spaces and in the Blue Lot for $3 per day.
