WSU Alumna to play during Taylor Swift concert

Washington State University alumna Jennifer Lynn will be opening for national country star Taylor Swift at Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum Oct. 23.

Since the release of her debut album “Leavin'” in 2005, Jennifer Lynn has opened for a range of national celebrity country music stars including Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Rodney Atkins, Jo Dee Messina and many more.

Lynn has performed at some of the Pacific Northwest’s most prominent venues including the Oregon Jamboree, Portland Memorial Coliseum, Les Schwab Amphitheater & Seattle’s Experience Music Project.

She studied music during her tenure at WSU and performed in various choirs, Opera Workshop & Summer Palace. Her upcoming visit to Pullman will also be her first performance on campus since she left WSU in 2000.

Swift, a country singer native of Pennsylvania, released her first single, “Tim McGraw”, in the summer of 2006 and her CD by the end of October of the same year. The CD, on which Swift wrote or co-wrote all of the songs, peaked at number 19 on the sales charts and sold more than 40,000 during its first week.

The song “Tim McGraw” peaked at number 6 on January, 2007. Her follow up, “Teardrops On My Guitar”, debuted at number 46 on the February country charts.
