Dinner series held home football weekends

“A Feast of the Arts,” an evening series, will once again be offered each Friday evening prior to game day on all Washington State home football game weekends.The series includes fine dining, wine, music, and art featuring gourmet dinners prepared by chefs and students from the Washington State University School of Hospitality Business Management.

The dinner series, which features award-winning wines from across Washington state, begins at 6 p.m. each Friday before home games with a champagne and hors d’oeuvres reception at the WSU Museum of Art. Guests can view a wide variety of art as well as listen to musical performances from the WSU School of Music & Theatre Arts and the WSU Cougar Marching Band.

Each reception will be followed at 7 p.m. by a four-course, gourmet meal served in the Todd Hall Dining Room. The meal is served with a selection of premium wines and state-wide vintners, grape growers and owners, will be on hand to talk about the wine selections.

This fall’s series will commence on the evening of 14 SeptemberS preceding the annual home football match-up between WSU and the University of Idaho. The evening’s menu will consist of chili-rubbed Steelhead salmon, Yukon gold potato puree, glazed baby beets, and fresh asparagus in a balsamic reduction. The course will be paired with the evening’s featured winery, Walla Walla’s Pepper Bridge Winery, which was included in “Wine & Spirits” magazine’s 100 Best Wines of 2006 list.

The series-opening dinner event will also feature performances by Jeff Savage and Karen Hsiao Savage, award-winning faculty members of the WSU School of Music.
