The neuroscience of emotions

Jaak Panksepp will discuss the nature of emotional feelings in the mammalian brain on April 20 from 3-5 p.m. in room 147 of the Academic Center at 600 North Riverpoint Blvd in Spokane. 

Panksepp will explain the implications of this work for understanding and treating emotional disorders such as autism and promoting emotional well-being. Afterward, a reception will follow the event.

The discussion is part of the Third Friday Seminar Series, hosted by the Office of Research and the Health Research and Education Center in Spokane.

Panksepp is the Baily Endowed Chair of Animal Well-Being Sciences at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine
