Firefighters cook up Mom’s Weekend breakfast

PULLMAN – The Pullman Firefighters will again be flipping pancakes, cooking eggs and serving an all-you-can eat breakfast Saturday, April 14 during Washington State University’s Mom’s Weekend.

The pancake feed will be held 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. across from  Streit-Perham dormitory at Presbyterian Church of Pullman, near Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum, at 1630 NE Stadium Way.

Event chairman Chris Volk said the charity event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and is sponsored by Pullman Fire Fighters Local 1892 in conjunction with the Pullman Reserve Firefighters. Fire equipment, including the department’s 87-foot pumper-ladder truck and an ambulance, will be at the church for the pancake feed.

For the last month Volk and several others have been contacting donors to help with the breakfast and raffle and gathering all the supplies and equipment that will be needed.

Firefighters will be serving pancakes, ham, hash browns, scrambled eggs, juice or coffee for $8 for those 12 and above; $6 for Seniors 55 and older; $4 for children between 6 and 12; children under 6 can eat free. For additional information, the public can call the department at (509) 332-8172.

The Pullman Firefighters Pancake Feed is one of the many events planned for April13-15. For more information about Mom’s Weekend activities, visit www.events.wsu.edu/moms-weekend/events/index.html.
