WSU’s annual faculty and staff gift drive is under way, emphasizing the potential impact of more than 7,100 employees making a gift of any size to the university. For YOUR WSU! – Faculty and Staff Drive 2007 will continue through May 15.
“This gift drive is special because it makes a strong statement to our students, supporters and the state of Washington about the deep commitment that the faculty and staff, working together, have for this great institution of higher learning,” said Ron Mittelhammer, Regents professor and director of the School of Economic Sciences.
Participation is the key.
“It’s not the size of the gift that is important, but the commitment to our university,” said Diana Bidle, assistant to the senior associate director of athletics. “Giving to WSU is one way I give back to our student-athletes who give my family so much enjoyment and pride.”
When a gift is made to WSU during the faculty/staff drive, or any annual gift made throughout the year, 100 percent goes to the WSU college, scholarship or program of the donor’s choice.
“The faculty and staff drive is an excellent way to support the quality programs, faculty and staff we have at WSU,” said Mittelhammer.
During this year’s drive, WSU employees will have the option of designating a gift to the Regents Scholar Program in honor of President and Mrs. V. Lane Rawlins.
The progress of the Rawlins Legacy Gift Drive and the For YOUR WSU – Faculty and Staff Drive 2007 will be reported during presidential farewell events in mid-May, and on the WSU Foundation’s website ONLINE @ www.wsufoundation.wsu.edu.
