Cougars beat Trojans in double overtime

The No. 13 Washington State Cougars beat the No. 23 University of Southern California Trojans, 88-86, in a double overtime game on Saturday to clinch the title of second place  in the Pac-10 Conference.

The Cougar’s Pac-10 second place finish tied the 1982-83 team for the best finish ever. The Cougars have never won a league title.

The last WSU team to win at least 24 games was in 1940-41, when the team won a school-record 26 games.

Taylor Rochestie, No. 10, contributed 21 points to help lead the Cougars to victory.

Aron Baynes, No. 11, scored a career best of 25 points

and Kyle Weaver, No. 25, had 15 points and 13 rebounds.
