PULLMAN  – Transportation and parking officials are asking people who will be visiting campus Saturday to plan ahead to avoid possible traffic problems.

The Washington State University football game against Oregon is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Martin Stadium. A Monster Truck Showdown will begin at 8 p.m. at the Beasley Coliseum.

“Having two major events on campus is exciting, and we want to get the word out to people to be ready for the parking and traffic challenges,” said Bridgette Johnson, field operations manager for parking and transportation.

Parking and transportation officials are working with Pullman Transit, WSU Athletics and Beasley Coliseum officials to offer alternatives to help ease parking and traffic problems.

People can use Pullman Transit to get to both the game and the Monster Truck Showdown. Pullman Transit will provide its usual Saturday service along with extra bus service for the home game. For information on which bus routes contact Pullman Transit at 509-332-6535 or the WSU Visitor Center at 509-335-8633.

Visitors who don’t want to fight traffic between the game and the Beasley event may take advantage of several on-campus dining options, including the post-game Cougar Food Fair at Hollingbery Field House and WSU dining centers, including the Hillside Café Late Night, open until 1 a.m., Stephenson Dining, open until 7:30 p.m., and Hillside Marketplace, open until 7:30 p.m. Concessions will also be available at Martin Stadium and Beasley Coliseum.
