PULLMAN–Companies, graduate schools and potential employers will gather at one location to provide information on programs, job opportunites, internships and more.

Washington State University Career Services and the University of Idaho Career and Professional Planning will host the Career Expo of the Palouse on Oct. 3 at the University of Idaho’s Kibbie Dome from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Due to limited parking, students are encouraged to car pool or take the free shuttle.

The Career Expo of the Palouse has become the largest collegiate job fair in the Pacific Northwest with more than 130 employers from all over the nation and 2,000 students in attendance. Currently, more than 100 employers are registered to attend. No registration is required for students.

Company recruiters are looking for candidates from every academic discipline for internships, career opportunities and graduate studies. Organizations attending the Career Expo are listed at www.careers.wsu.edu with company descriptions, job types and preferred majors.  

Career Expo events and deadlines

*Sept. 19: Wolseley North America, formally known as Ferguson Enterprises, will host a Resume Building and Writing Workshop from 4 to 5 p.m. in the CUE building, room 512.

*Sept. 24: Deadline for students to sign-up for a mock interviews conducted by a professional employer groups.

*Sept. 26: WSU Campus Involvement and WSU Career Services will be hosting “Backpack to Briefcase: Steps to a Successful Career.” Terry Ardnt, WSU graduate and President of Life After Graduation will offer tips and lessons for building a successful career. Based on a book by the same title, “Backpack to Briefcase,” offers information that many people acquire only after years in the workplace.  A reception with Ardnt will follow.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

*Oct. 2: Enterprise Rent-a-Car and WSU Career Services is hosting the “Be a Star!” Etiquette Dinner.  The dinner will be held at the University Inn Best Western from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Cost is $15 per student. Students learn the art of business protocol and dining etiquette from an expert in business relations during a three-course meal.  Space is limited.  

*Oct. 2: WSU Career Services is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 4  p.m. in the Lighty building, room 180. Visit Career Services to participate in resume critiques, gain access to Career Services resources, receive tips on interviewing and get questions answered.
