TRI-CITIES, Wash. – WSU Tri-Cities professor Nancy Ashley of the information systems department has been named director of the Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship.

Ashley is an associate professor of accounting and business law at the Tri-Cities campus.

Established earlier this year as a cooperative endeavor of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the WSU College of Business and Economics and WSU Tri-Cities, the Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship focuses on the exploration and development of technology-based business opportunities in the mid-Columbia region.

The institute also plans to offer a graduate certificate in entrepreneurship, which will be available to graduate students of varied academic and professional backgrounds.

Joe Montgomery, who resigned his leadership role with the institute to become associate dean for institutional research at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, will continue his work on developing the certificate requirements.
