The flu season has arrived, and with it comes some precautions to keep local residents flu-free.
Dr. Timothy Moody, Whitman County health officer, said there is a flu vaccine available, although vaccine deliveries are arriving to the Palouse slowly. Moody suggests checking with health care providers, WSU Health and Wellness Center, or the Whitman County Health Department for more information on vaccine availability.
Moody also had some suggestions to help residents prevent the spread of the flu. Some of these suggestions include:
*When coughing or sneezing, always covering the mouth and nose with a tissue
*Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, or carry disinfectant wipes with you
*Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth
*Avoid close contact with those who are sick
*Stay away from others if you do get sick
