WSU Reduces Garage Parking Fees for Summer

PULLMAN, Wash. — Parking at Washington State University just became a little easier with reduced summer rates available at all campus garages.

WSU Parking and Transportation Services is offering hourly garage rates for $1.25 per hour, reduced from $1.75 per hour, at the Samuel H. Smith Center for Undergraduate Education parking garage and the garage under Holland Library. There is a daily maximum rate of $12 Monday through Friday and a $2 maximum rate for weekday evenings after 5 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The parking and rate changes will be in effect through August 19.

“Because of the increased availability of parking in the summer, we want to make it more convenient to park on campus,” said John Shaheen, director of Parking, Transportation, and Visitor Center.

Parking restrictions in other areas on campus have changed for the summer as well. Daily and summer permits are now available for all parking zones. Payment of parking meters after 4 p.m. is not required, and permits are not required for parking zones after 4 p.m., with the exception of restricted disability, service and reserved spaces.

Additionally, gray parking zones are open to all owners of valid WSU parking permits except for those with blue permits and housing permits. These conditions also will be in effect through August 19, the last day of summer business hours.
