New service delivers science info via e-mail

Science information from 12 federal agencies can be delivered weekly through customized e-mails via a free Alert Service account from the interagency Web portal Science.gov.

The service searches more than 1,700 government information resources and 30 databases from agencies representing more than 96 percent of the federal research and development budget. These agencies include the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Health and Human Services and Interior, as well as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, NASA and the National Science Foundation.
