PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University College of Business and Economics and the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies will sponsor the preliminary rounds of the second annual WSU Business Plan Competition Dec. 3.
The preliminary rounds of the two-phase competition will be from 1-5:30 p.m. in Todd Hall conference rooms 239, 339, 387 and 439. The competition will conclude with the final round April 1-2 during WSU’s Showcase week. The public is invited to attend.
All teams will be assigned to one of four leagues. The prize money offered will be $5,000, $3,000 and $1,000 for the teams that place first, second and third, respectively. WSU undergraduate and graduate students in any college can participate, with an emphasis being placed on creating cross-college cooperation.
There are currently 19 teams entered in the preliminary round. Business ideas range from high-tech software products to espresso stands. Judges for the preliminary round include venture capitalists, angel investors, bankers, business owners and WSU faculty.
