A celebration of Washington wines will be one of the highlights of WSU’s last home football weekend — and Apple Cup weekend — Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20.
The wine tasting, 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Ensminger Agricultural Pavilion, will feature more than 25 Washington offerings. Tickets at the door will cost $10.
This fundraiser benefits the Viticulture and Enology Club and is cohosted by the club, the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, and the Old Post Office Wine Cellar & Gallery in downtown Pullman.
Coinciding with the tasting will be a primer on wine tasting offered as a Cougar Conversations class (see below).
The Apple Cup game, WSU vs. University of Washington, will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Martin Stadium. On Friday, Nov. 19, a WSU basketball doubleheader will begin at 6 p.m. with the women vs. Boise State in Beasley Coliseum; the men will follow at 8 p.m. vs. Montana State.

• 1 p.m. — Perception: The science of art and art of science, Kenneth Kardong, biological sciences, CUB 224; and Wheat breeding is where science meets reality, Kim Kidwell, crop and soil sciences, CUB 214-216.
• 2 p.m. — Wine tasting 101, Carolyn Ross, food science and human nutrition, Smith CUB 232; and DNA, WSU and you, Ralph Yount, chemistry and biochemistry, Smith CUB 220.
