Candace Gingrich, lesbian activist and staff member at the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender advocacy organization, will deliver the keynote speech at “Building Community, Creating a Vision,” from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 in the Phase I Classroom Building Auditorium on the WSU Spokane Riverpoint Campus, 668 North Riverpoint Boulevard.
Gingrich “will help bring the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and allied community together as one, so we can begin to understand the social and economic advantages of a visible gay community,” said co-organizer Bonnie Aspen.
The event, made possible by a grant from Spokane-Kootenai Pride and organized by Inland Northwest Business Alliance (INBA). Doors open at 1:30 for voter registration. Admission is free.
Gingrich is the sister of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
