Fun, facts await horse fans at equine expo

Enjoy a day of fun and learn about equine health issues at the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine’s Second Annual Horse Conference and Expo on Saturday, Sept. 25, in Pullman. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and costs $5. The expo closes at 5 p.m.

Public demonstrations and lectures will be held on topics such as recognizing lameness in horses, training methods, general breed characteristics, equine dentistry and disease, and horse business and tax issues.

Also, 4-H and FFA youth judging teams and individuals will compete. Tours of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital will be offered. Student clubs will host displays. Food and equine products will be for sale.

“We hope many people will come and bring their families too,” said Dr. Richard DeBowes, chair of WSU’s Veterinary Clinical Sciences.
