Stress, nutrition focus of spring UREC series

Easing stress and boosting nutrition improve health and lifestyle. University Recreation will present a series of classes on those topics in the weeks ahead. And they’ve thrown in some fun activities for children, as well.

Classes on easing stress to maintain and improve well being include:
• Herbs to Support the Nervous System, Wednesday, Feb. 18
• Natural Immune Support, Feb. 25
• Reflexology, Wed., March 31
• Stress Management Yoga, April 1.
Classes are 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center. Cost for each class is $10 for WSU students and SRC members, $12 for non-members. Registration closes three days prior to class date.

The nutrition series includes:
• Fad Diets, Wednesday, Feb. 11
• Supplements for Athletic Performance, Wednesday, March 3
• Eating Well on a Tight Budget, Wednesday, April 7
Classes are 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the SRC. They are free for WSU students and SRC members, $2 for non-members.

Activities for kids include sports nights at WSU ballgames and parties at the WSU climbing wall.

Sports nights, for children in grades 1-8, include admission to a WSU game, as well as activities for an hour before and an hour after. Sports nights are: Saturday, March 6, men’s basketball vs. Cal; and Saturday, April 24, men’s baseball vs. ASU. The cost is $15 per child for WSU students and SRC members, $18 for non-members.

Scheduled climbing sessions for children at the WSU climbing wall will be 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 7, March 6, April 3 and May 1. Cost is $12 for WSU students and SRC members, $15 for non-members.
