PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University will present Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen” on Feb. 19 as part of the 2003-04 Children’s Series.

The 7:30 p.m. performance by the Enchantment Theatre Co., a children’s theatre group from Philadelphia, includes original music, physical theater, masks, shadow play and Japanese Banraku puppetry.

Tickets are $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under and are available at all TicketsWest outlets, online at www.beasley.wsu.edu or by calling (800) 325-SEAT.

“The Snow Queen” is a tale of best friends Gerda and Kay, who spend their days in happy play until the Snow Queen puts Kay under a spell and takes him to her palace of snow and ice. It is up to Gerda then to travel through strange and dangerous lands to rescue her friend.

The story is one of 350 stories written by Danish author Andersen during the mid-1800s.
