PULLMAN, Wash. — Planning is underway for Cougar Pride Days 2004, March 29-April 2, at Washington State University.

This is the third year of the annual spring event during which university faculty, staff, student and area resident volunteers will help make the WSU campus more beautiful. Flowers shrubs and trees will be planted, bark mulch spread and litter will be picked up.

As with last year, the City of Pullman will be a Cougar Pride Days participant with beautification activities taking place in Pullman.

Ev Davis, the university’s Facilities Operation’s executive director, heads a committee organizing event activities. Cougar Pride Days kicks off March 29 and concludes with an awards ceremony April 2. Both events are set for noon on Terrell Mall or in the Compton Union Building, depending on the weather.

Also at noon on March 29, the WSU Student Alumni Connection (SAC), a Cougar Pride Days sponsor, will hold a ceremony on the mall and serve birthday cake in the CUB celebrating WSU’s 114th birthday. Leading SAC efforts to help organize the campus and community effort are Brock Howell, Rachel Inman and Mark Dinges, respective SAC president, Cougar Pride Days SAC representative and SAC adviser.

The Web site for Cougar Pride Days is www.wsu.edu/cougar-pride-days. It will be updated with Cougar Pride Days 2004 information as soon as details are finalized by the committee. One of the Web site features is accepting sign-ups for projects.
