Improved bowl ticket strategy

Though it’s not yet certain which bowl game the Cougars will attend, the WSU football team is poised to enjoy its fourth bowl appearance in the last seven seasons.

Tickets will go on sale to the public, via TicketsWest, for the bowl game once the Cougars have accepted an invitation.

In an effort to improve the bowl game ticketing process, ticket request forms already have been sent to 34,755 individuals and corporations that have accrued points and ranking within the WSU ticket priority system, usually because they have long association with the university as volunteers, season ticket holders and/or donors.

“With the recent success of the football team, the Athletic Department continues to strive to make the allocation of bowl tickets as seamless as possible,” said Brady Crook, associate athletic director for Development/Athletic Foundation.

“After excellent feedback from our fans, we took painstaking steps to improve the allocation of bowl tickets. We believe individuals will realize the improvements in this upcoming bowl season.”

A confirmation will be sent today (Nov. 14) guaranteeing the number of tickets each individual or corporation has secured for each bowl possibility. Once a bowl invitation is accepted, the quantity of tickets guaranteed in the confirmation mailing will be processed, with no refunds and/or cancellations.

Remaining tickets will be offered to the public Sunday, Dec. 7, at the latest, as it is the last day WSU can accept a bowl invitation.
